HISTORY

in the Beginning it started with three friends & the will to rock in late 98.
Those brave warriors were known as Brett Threat, Crusty Jon Bon Jovi, & Scott Scavenger. Brett had already started two other successful bands, first as a singer for P.O.A and second as the bassist for A Global Threat. Jon who was first the bassist for General Strike and later the 2nd guitarist A Global Threat. Scott was a long time show promoter and founder of the 2 Rivers Collective, also drummer for the Barnstormers.

The first practices were in Jonny's sister's barn where we recorded our 1st demo, which we gave away for free at a show in Kennebunkport,ME. Soon there after we all moved into a house together in downtown Augusta,ME on perham st.

Thus begins the Waste House era. . .soon after moving in together the waste recorded "the Basement Tapes" and began playing a lot of shows in up state NY. After a while Jonny's interest in the band began to waver. He then joined Angry Folk and stopped hanging out with Scott and Brett. It was at this time that the infamous green "Wanted Drummer" flyer was placed at several locations from Bangor to Portland. USA Waste was looking for a drummer, Anyone who was interested in bands from Bon Jovi to Naked Aggression(no Kornholes) and had a will to rock was called upon to drum for the waste. One kid from Portland came up to the Waste House to give it a shot, he was a Kornhole and besides that a pretty lousy drummer. Then the call went out to Jesse A. Hippie to see if he would be interested in keeping the beat for the waste. Jesse claimed he was nothing more than a human metronome but he was down. thus spawning the 2nd incoming of USA Waste featuring Brett Threat/guitar, Scott Scavenger/bass, Jesse A.Hippie/drums. Jesse said right away that he would only be temporary fill in and that we should look for a real drummer. it was at this time that USA Waste became more of a straight up rock band writing such tunes as Black Roses and Mullet Rock City. the Waste played only 2 shows with this line-up before talking to the Pope (then drummer for Dissident Force) to see if he would be interested.

shortly after the Pope joined the band on drums, replacing Jesse, the Waste got in touch with Westie who was recording several local bands at the time to see if he would record them. Westie (guitarist for the Commonwealth)was ex band mate of Brett (in the bands: P.O.A. & A Global Threat) and he agreed to record the waste in the recording studio at UMA. What came out of that recording was the "Assault Attack" 7". After recording the 7", Chris (show promoter in Sartoga,NY) offered to help the waste put out the Assault Attack record. He put up some loot to make the record causing it to be a split label release between Never Surrender Records(NY) & Crack Rock Records(ME). After releasing the 7", USA Waste embarked on its first tour. the Assault Attack Tour lasted 2 weeks and took the band to Illinois and back to Maine playing in nearly every state on the way. Once the Assault Attack tour was over Brett & Scott turned the Waste House into a show venue, having shows in the basement and out of control parties upstairs until our the landlord had to sell the house. Which ended the Waste House era.

The practice location was then moved to the Pope's house in Gardiner with Brett living in Augusta and Scott living in Lewiston. it was during this time that the waste again got a hold of Westie to record them. This time using a porta-studio Westie recorded the waste right in the practice space. What came of that recording was the DIY released "Drunken Battle Hymns" cd. A 15 track gem that includes Westie performing a ripping metal solo on the hidden track Black Roses. Following up this recording the waste planned another tour. This tour was supposed to go all the way to Missouri but in the week leading up to the start date for the tour over 10 shows were cancelled for various reasons, leaving the waste to mostly play western and upstate NY. The tour did however bring Pinko & the Action Boys out to play in Ithaca,NY for their "Dead Cities Tour" with USA Waste. After getting back from tour Brett had no place to live and had to move back with his family near Bangor. Having no job or cash Brett was unable to make it down to Augusta as often to practice. The band communication fell apart and Brett was pushed out of the band being replaced by Chris (guitarist for Genital Panik). creating the 3rd line-up ScottScavenger/bass, Pope/drums, Chris/guitar. They played together for a while, before Scott decided to quit the band. 1 year after Scott quit the band he decide to move to NYC.

approx 2 yrs after having last played with USA Waste Brett & Pope decide to start the rocking again. At first Chris played Bass and after practicing Brett knew the waste needed someone to sing all of Scott's vocal parts and that is where Mark came in. Mark joined the band as the 2nd singer taking all of Scott's old vocal parts and of course writing his own songs. the waste played one show at the UU in Bangor with the line-up Chris/bass, Brett/guitar, Pope/drums, and Mark/vocals. Chris wasn't able to get practices so Brett asked former waste drummer Jesse A. Hippie if he'd be willing to play bass. Jesse was more than excited to rock.

Once Jesse joined the band, the waste started to really come together again. They wrote some new tunes and started playing shows again. They took advantage of an offer from Adam Reliable ( drummer for the Leftovers [portland,ME] ) to record them. What came out of that was the best recording to date by USA Waste. it was an 11 track anthem laced session that would later be dubbed "the P-town sessions". it was supposed to be used to get some songs for releasing another 7", but then the idea of doing a CD with the entire material was much more econmical. Before any of that could happen Jesse decided to move back to Arizona thus ending another chapter in the waste.

With Jesse gone again for the second time, the waste was once again out to find another Rock Warrior to fullfill the bass duties. after scouting for about a month they came across Chris Flynn, A Heavy shreadder. It would then be decided that Chris & Brett would switch between guitar and bass.

Shortly after Pope moved up to the Bangor area, Flynn became M.I.A. Then next to become a Warrior for the waste was Daren D-tox. Daren and Brett had previously played together in the band Wreck And Restore (W.A.R.). Together they had written nearly a completly new album and had plans to go into the studio to record. They were also planning on heading out on tour, but all that was squashed when Pope announced he no longer would have the time to play with the Waste.

Soon after Pope's announcement Daren found Dub. Dub had tried for quite sometime to get a band started up, but nothing ever seemed to work out, so Dub was very eager to pound the skins for the Waste knowing they are an already established band with serious plans. Just 4 months after joining, the waste would head into the studio to record an EP that would be titled "Running From The Pigs". With Robbie Rekless on the controls at Browndog Studios in Hermon,Maine. They would record & master it in just under 8 hours. The track "Brave New World" was also released on the Loud Fast Rules #4 comp. This lead to a few more tours, and the release of the band's 2nd full length album "Defiant Anthems of Truth & Justice". Defiant Anthems was recorded by Richard Marr at Galaxy Park in Allston,Mass. It features 19 tracks of very diverse styles of punk all still in that in your face waste sound. It was at this time that Daren & Dub would invest into equipment for Crack Rock Records. All the equipment to press CDs/DVDs was purchased. Shortly after the release of Defiant Anthems, Daren announced that he was going to leave the waste.

It was at this time that Jesse A. Hippie had arrived from Arizona, so once again he would fill the vacated bassist position until he was to go back to school. He learned serveral of the newer songs to go along with his past catalog. Around the same time that Jesse was headed back to Arizona, original bassist Scott Scavenger emerged from NY to once again ride with the waste. Jesse & Scott would play a split set in Lowell,Mass for the On A Mission farewell show. This was also Jesse's final waste show.

Knowing that Scott was soon headed back to Guatamala, the search for a permanent bassist was on. The Waste tried out a few people, but it didn't seem to click, though they were all great musicians. It was at this time that Dylan, guitarist for the Nerve Endings, had decided to move back to Maine from Mass, where the Nerve Endings had just relocated to, thus becoming an available option. We knew he was the one, Within a practice we had 7 song ready to go. Soon after Dylan joined we got a show at the Workers Center in Brewer, Maine. This was Dylan's first show a split set with Scott. Dylan played the Defiant Anthem songs, while Scott shreadded the Drunken Battle hymns era. It was an epic set!

The 4/19/08 show eith Pinkerton Thugs was supposed to be Scott's last stint with the band, with more about that later. For now Dylan had became the full time bassist. After gaining Dylan, the waste played a few shows and then when on a short break from playing out while Dub went traveling, Brett got married and Dylan worked. During this time the band wrote 2 new songs entitled "Safety Thru Control" and "We Agree, both are Stupid Ideas". Before they could start playing out again, Dylan became unable to get to practice or shows so he had to resign. The waste was deeply saddened by the loss. However Mr. Scavenger was there to pick up the pieces.

Scott would make his 3rd stint with the waste by rocking the Aviary Show in Dover, NH and the Disaster Strikes show before heading to Ithaca,NY on his way back to Guatamala. During this time the waste had begun looking for replacement troops. It was then that they came across Terry who happened to live in Dedham near Brett. Soon after meeting and jamming with Terry it was decided that he was going to be the one!

Shortly after the waste's 1st show with Terry Shark, Dub decided that he had lost interest in the band musically and announced his departure. Within a week of Dub leaving, Zakk, (the drummer from the band Your Grandma's Gay) approached the waste about trying out on drums. Zakk was a perfect fit, he was a cool likable guy, who also happens to rock the skins like nobody's business. After a few practices they had an 11 song set including a brand new tune entitled "Bait". It seems as though there is no stopping the rock of USA Waste
